Established on 1st September 1972 under the name Syarikat Kerjasama Serbaguna Bumira Berhad, it has evolved over the years to become a cornerstone of economic empowerment for Bumiputra individuals and families.

Evolution and Purpose

Ten years after its establishment, the cooperative underwent a name change to Koperasi Bumira Berhad. The core objective remained steadfast: to facilitate credit, consumer, housing, plantation, and transportation functions within the community. The cooperative primarily extends loans to its members, a majority of whom consist of MARA office staff, with nearly 90% being Bumiputra individuals.
