In line with the objective of increasing the economic interests of Koperasi Perdana Nasional Malaysia Berhad KOPRIMAS members, they strive to diversify their sources of income by venturing into new fields. The ruminant meat industry (cow, buffalo, goat, sheep) has great potential to be ventured into and explored as meat becomes an increasingly popular and preferred food as the economic level and purchasing power of consumers increase.

Statistics from the Malaysian Department of Veterinary Services show that in 2017, Malaysia produced 46,333 tonnes of beef/buffalo and 4,400 tonnes of meat and sheep. This is 23% and 10% self -contained (SSL). Some of the local meat products are also from live livestock imported for slaughter.
