History

Establishment and Land Allocation

Rancangan Kemajuan Tanah Anggota Polis Pangkat Rendah Johor Berhad was established with a noble purpose—to manage oil palm plantations owned by the original members on a vast expanse of land spanning 3,125 acres. This land grant was a tribute to the dedicated service of former police officers who tirelessly safeguarded the public interest in the State of Johor.

Support from State Leadership

Recognizing the significance of this initiative, the then Menteri Besar, YAB Allahyarham Dato’ Othman Saad, threw his support behind the cooperative’s application to obtain consent from His Majesty Tuanku Sultan of Johor. As a result of this advocacy, the members were granted approximately 2,000 acres of land in the first stage, followed by an additional 1,125 acres in the second stage.

Cooperative Membership

At its inception, Rancangan Kemajuan Tanah Anggota Polis Pangkat Rendah Johor Berhad boasted a membership of 322 individuals. However, over time, the cooperative has experienced a slight decrease in membership, with the current count standing at 311 members.

Legacy and Continuity

Despite the changes in membership, Rancangan Kemajuan Tanah Anggota Polis Pangkat Rendah Johor Berhad remains committed to its founding principles and objectives. The cooperative continues to honor the legacy of the former police officers and strives to uphold their spirit of service and dedication.

Future Endeavors

As Rancangan Kemajuan Tanah Anggota Polis Pangkat Rendah Johor Berhad moves forward, it remains dedicated to the responsible management of its oil palm plantations and the well-being of its members. With a focus on sustainability and community development, the cooperative looks towards a future of growth and prosperity for all stakeholders involved.

Projects and Activities

Oil Palm Plantations

The primary source of revenue for Koperasi Kemajuan Tanah Negeri Johor Berhad (KOPKETA) stems from its oil palm plantation activities. Originally spanning 3,000 acres in the Kluang district, the cooperative’s involvement in development projects has led to a reduction in available land for oil palm cultivation. Currently, KOPKETA manages 1,571 acres of land divided into 9 blocks for oil palm plantations.

Commercial Property Rentals

KOPKETA diversifies its income streams through commercial property rentals, including:

  • Rental of Wisma Kopketa building and 9 shop houses in Bandar Kluang, Johor.
  • Rental of fourteen shop houses in Bandar Seri Impian, Kluang, Johor.
  • Under-construction rental properties, including 2 shop and office buildings in Impiana Square, Bandar Seri Impian.
  • Six bungalows available for rent.

Housing Development

Collaborating with Matrix Concept, KOPKETA has ventured into property development, starting with a 900-acre farmland. This development began in early 2005, focusing on mixed housing. As of 2017, approximately 85% of the project has been completed, with full completion anticipated by 2020.

PETRON Petrol Station

KOPKETA made history by successfully venturing into the petrol station business, opening the PETRON Petrol Station in Bandar Seri Impian, Kluang, Johor. Construction commenced on April 1 and was completed on August 25, 2020. This initiative aims to enhance KOPKETA’s revenue streams and profitability.

Future Prospects and Leadership

Under the leadership of Chairman Haji Mohd Ariffin Ismail, KOPKETA is committed to achieving its mission and vision. With the opening of PETRON, KOPKETA anticipates increased revenue and profit, benefiting its members. Haji Mohd Ariffin emphasized the importance of trust in achieving success and revealed ongoing plans to further advance the cooperative’s ventures.
